The Human Factors & Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA) 2025 National Conference was held in Launceston from 1 to 3 December, with the theme “Human Factors and Complexity Systems”.

A group of 20 conference delegates were treated to an exclusive site visit to Furntech-AFRDI. This visit offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at how furniture is tested for ergonomics, safety, durability and sustainability. They heard about the standards that guide product design and certification, and saw firsthand how testing supports human-centred design across workplaces and public environments.
